yesterday's congressional hearing into the alleged wiretapped tapes were like the first 2 hearings - grandstanding congressmen who have nothing intelligent to say but only want to see their names on the record of the house and their faces on tv took up so much time with their repetitive questions and inane comments and a resource person (nbi dir reynaldo wycoco) who didn't reveal much but made a mark with his witty for-miss-universe answer.
cong butz aquino however scored one for the opposition when he made wycoco admit that the nbi has no basis to arrest anyone in possession of the controversial recordings as it has not yet been established that these were sourced from illegal means.
wycoco however evened the score when he was asked if the nbi was looking for the so-called "mother of all tapes." wycoco replied that he was not only looking for the "mother of all tapes" but also "the father of all tapes" as well. nanganak daw kasi ang mother at father of all tapes kaya dumami ang mga recording.
the next hearing is scheduled for next wednesday from 1 to 10pm. they cancelled the tuesday hearing "out of respect for cardinal sin" who will be laid to rest on that day. after the hearing, wycoco stayed to talk to several congressmen. after, he rushed outside to leave but not before i ambush-interviewed him. after the interview, as he was leaving the main lobby, i called out to him, "see you on wednesday, sir." he looked back and replied, "sana wag na."
now, will wednesday's hearing be better than the the previous ones? that remains to be seen.
